Compare and Contrast The Sounds of Life House and Hip Hop, are two very similar genres of music. However, no matter how similar these two types of music sound, they are still very different. Hip Hop and House music are two very popular kinds of music today. Some Hip Hop artists that you might be familiar with are MosDef, The Roots, De La Soul, Jurassic 5. Some House music artists are Mark Farina, Chemical Brothers, Inland Knights, JT Donaldson and Deadmau5. All of these artists and groups have left their lasting mark on the ears of millions throughout the world. Hip Hop became nationally recognized in 1979, when â€Å"The Sugar Hill Gang† put out â€Å"Rappers Delight† which is still played in many clubs and parties today, since then the music has spanned all over the world. And it has become one of the most popular genres of music on the national charts. House Music, has made its way around the world, and has found its home in many different continents. House Music is the number one, most widely listened to type of music outside of the United States. It has made DJ’s into worldwide superstars but yet only a handful of Americans have really accepted it as a mainstream alternative to their regular source of music. You can hear it everywhere from Japan, throughout Europe, South America to Australia. It has become the soundtrack of our lives. As you can see these two styles of music have a very similar history, yet have taken their own separate paths to bring them to what they are today.
